How To Use LED Underwater Lamps Correctly

Oct 20, 2021

LED underwater light, also known as LED underwater light, is a kind of underwater light, simple refers to the light installed under the water, the surface is small, elegant, and elegant. Because it is placed in the water, the difficulty of implementing the lighting project has also increased, so the use of the essentials is very demanding.

The installation height of the luminaire should be appropriate

The LED underwater light is usually installed at about 50-100mm below the water surface. Too deep will affect the light effect, and too shallow will affect the service life due to the violent blow of the falling water.

The lamps are well-proportioned

The LED underwater light is designed to illuminate a certain purpose, so it is necessary to determine the position of the light and determine the purpose and color according to the approximate height of the purpose. When strong light is necessary, in an environment where there is no special requirement, I would rather choose a few similar lamps than a few high-power lamps. This brings convenience to the stocking and patching of lamps.

The cable of the lamp should have a satisfactory load margin

The cross-sectional area of the wire of the cable is the condition that promotes the flow of current. If the area is too small, the current consumption in the wire will increase, and the luminous power will be greatly reduced; if the area is too large, the cost will be increased. The wire section of the ordinary 12V100W\nLED underwater lamp should not be less than 2.5mm , 12V300WLED underwater light should be no less than 6mm, and the luminaire does not allow the cable end to be directly connected in the water.

The orientation of the transformer must be fair

The position of the transformer is directly related to the cable length of the LED underwater lamp and the luminous brightness of the lamp. Therefore, it should only be close to the pond to reduce the cable length and reduce the voltage consumption. The transformer should be installed in the rainproof electrical box, or under the leisure chair, or in the hidden place of the construction sketch.

The output voltage of the transformer should be appropriate

For quiet LED underwater lights, 12V input voltage must be supplied, which is completed by the transformer. Although the transformer outputs 12V voltage, the actual voltage of the lamp will be lower than 12V due to wire consumption, and the luminous brightness will drop significantly. Therefore, the output voltage of the transformer should be correctly supplied according to the length of the wire and its consumption, so as to ensure the real 12V input voltage of the lamp. In addition, the length of the LED underwater light cables on the unified transformer should be the same, so that the luminous brightness between the lamps is evenly connected.

The input voltage must be firm

In reality, the input voltage also directly affects the lifespan and luminous effect of lamps. The test proves that when the input voltage is higher than 5% of the extra voltage, the life span will shrink by 50% of the characterization value; when the input voltage is higher than 10%, the life span will only reach 30% of the characterization value, and the brightness can be increased, but light will be emitted. The power only increases by 20%; on the contrary, if the input voltage is 5% lower, the service life will be doubled, and the luminous power will only lose 15%. Therefore, some engineering companies prefer to use the step-down application after weighing the gains and losses.

The total load of the lighting power supply should be balanced in three phases

Generally, the transformers used are single-phase 220V input voltage, so when the transformer is connected to the power supply, the power of several transformers should be evenly distributed on the three phases to prevent electrical disadvantages caused by the imbalance of the three phases.
