The misunderstanding of LED Wall Light

Oct 10, 2021

It is understood that in recent years, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards and increasing attention to topics such as energy and environment, consumers' demands for energy conservation, environmental protection, and healthy and comfortable life have become higher and higher. In terms of lighting, choosing more green, energy-saving, and healthy lighting products has become the mainstream of the society; and LEDs are widely used because of their outstanding performance in energy saving, environmental protection, use efficiency and lifespan. It has become an inevitable trend. However, consumers should also pay attention to the following misunderstandings when buying lighting:

Misunderstanding 1: LED bulbs of several W can replace incandescent lamps of several W.

Positive solution: Because incandescent lamps usually only talk about wattage but not lumen, it will affect consumers' habit of buying lamps over time. LED technology is different from incandescent lamps. As the luminous efficiency of LEDs is still evolving, the wattage does not represent its lumens. Some manufacturers give a label similar to "40W incandescent lamp replacement product" on the package to help consumers choose.

Misunderstanding 2: The greater the LED power, the brighter the brightness.

Positive solution: Generally, the brightness of LED light is measured by lumens (lm). The higher the output lumens (lm) of LED lamps of different power sizes, the more energy-saving. For example: comparing 5W and 6W LED bulbs, if the 5W lumen output is higher than 6W, then the 5W lamp is actually more energy efficient than the 6W.
